Faith Rice
Artist’s Statement
I am in love with words and their impact. Guilt, trauma, and passion are the most intense human emotions and I try to capture it best through poetry. I start by extracting every physical and psychological experience I have in a specific situation and I make it my business to recreate the experience inside of the reader so that reading my poetry is not just a task or an interest, but the experience itself. My goal is to tap into the human understanding and allow it to evolve my poetry into more than just words on paper. I hope to one day be remembered as a poet who didn’t write poems, but a poet who captured the fundamental and complicated nature of a human being. Love Always, Faith
